Hi, I'm Deb Silver

Chef and Small Business Owner flexing my culinary muscles within the Greater Rochester community. Food is my passion and I am excited to share my craft with you.

Over the past two decades, my culinary experiences run the gamut. My first kitchen gig was at the renowned Machus Red Fox in Bloomfield Hills and continuing through culinary school, apprenticeship, MBA, owning a catering business, and even a stint as a butcher, I lived the passion that I now deliver to you. I support many neighborhood non-profits. Leader Dogs for the Blind, New Day Foundation, and Paint a Miracle, just to name a few. In 2022, I was named Businesswoman of the Year at the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce Pinnacle awards and am a guest chef on The Nine on Fox2 News Detroit.

When not creating culinary masterpieces at The Sham Shack in Goodison, or welcoming customers at the Side Dish storefront in Downtown Rochester, you’ll probably find me on a crazy outdoor adventure with my husband, Aaron, and 4 children.

Our dream team is a cheerful bunch of food lovers drawn to the mission of connecting with the community. Every one of these merry tastemakers has a special set of gifts to help a once-fledging idea turn into a seasoned model that is redefining how you engage with food. It’s easy to get your fix of our culinary creations. Select from catering a special event, scheduling a unique on-site experience, or pick up an unforgettable dinner and a unique bottle of wine. There’s no wrong choice. Have us cater your party with food, liquor, staffing, and all the plans to make the party a hit. Come to our teaching kitchen and learn to cook and enjoy unique wines with your friends. Or, keep it simple and enjoy a night off with our made-from-scratch meal-to-go service.
